Featuring Michael Jackson
“Vogel’s prodigious collection of essays - Featuring Michael Jackson – is both a poignant deconstruction and ardent retrofit of the greatest entertainer that ever lived. Vogel presents an honest and beautiful tableau-vivant of this Super-Man In The Mirror that will reflect in our collective consciousness for years to come.” —Barry Michael Cooper, Award-winning journalist for the Village Voice and screenwriter for New Jack City
“Vogel’s voice is dignified and powerful. I very much respect what he has to say.” —Bill Bottrell, Grammy-winning Producer, Songwriter and Collaborator of Michael Jackson
“Without calling much attention to itself, Vogel’s writing is quietly incendiary and often rather delightfully subversive.” —John Scott G., Music Industry Newswire

Thank you, Joe for another must-read book that will help put Michael Jackson’s music and life in the proper light and with a deep appreciation for his amazing impact on music, culture and the world. Your work is very appreciated!
Thanks for putting this collection out there. I have read every one of these many times, except, of course, the bonus chapter. I will be looking forward to getting it as soon as it is available. You do great work.
Most people who are considered “critics” don’t have a clue about what Michael Jackson’s music really is and miss the boat most of the time. Thankfully, your writing doesn’t miss a thing. I absolutely agree with this statement of Mr. Scott’s. I truly enjoy that delightful subversiveness.

Thank goodness for Joe Vogel, one of the few voices raised so far to seriously examine the cultural and artistic meaning and impact of Michael Jackson. I have been impressed with the research and insightful commentary that has gone into what you’ve written on the subject, and can only hope you will continue to do this valuable work. Have you ever had a conversation with Armond White by any chance?
Wow, Joe, thank you once again for writing and releasing your new book regarding Michael Jackson’s legacy and impact on our culture. I have no doubt that it will be a wonderfully insightful and facinating read. I look forward to reading it. Thank you.
With sincere gratitude,
Kim
P.S. I like the question brought up by R.R. Bent about having a conversation with Armond White. A collaboration with you and Mr. White, would be very interesting to say the least.
Good morning,
I admire you very much for your true knowledge of Michael jackson. I have read “Man in the music” and I am liked a lot. I am Italian and I would want to also read this book “Featuring Michael Jackson, but, unfortunately, I don’t know very well English language and I would want to ask you, if you knows, for this book will also be translated in Italian. I hope for it a lot.
I thank you very much for your great job and love for Michael and I embrace you.
Bye
